Thanksgiving 2008

Our little family at Grandpa John's house

Our little family at Grandpa Johns - Willie has the worst time keeping his eyes open with my camera flash...

We spent Thanksgiving on the road. Well, not the entire thing, but a lot of it. We left the house at 11:30 and arrived at Willie’s dad’s shortly before 3:00. On the way home, we left their place in Pt. Townsend at about 8:45 and arrived home about 12:30 AM. We may as well have driven to Wenatchee and back! We did have about 6 hours there, but the majority of our day was spent driving.

While at Grandpa John and Grandma Mary’s, we chatted, played Yahtzee, saw deer in the adjacent field, watched the dogs vie for position, and ate plenty of food. All that was left out was some true Thanksgiving to God. (When I was explaining this day to Sherice she asked us if we at least prayed before we ate. What? Of course, not. She figured that everyone at least said a prayer at T-giving. Not true…)

So, on Sunday afternoon, we invited the Mansfields over and Willie cooked up at 23 pound turkey and ALL the fixings and we feasted on God’s goodness.

We continued our scrapbook tradition of a family photo and giving each person a spot on the page to express their thanks through drawing or writing, whatever is age appropriate. These are so fun to look back on. I think our goes back 9 years or so.
